Remember the “pottery with iron oxide glaze patterns” that I posted in October? (You do remember because I painted one of the cups with a tampon.) The glaze worked out great in the kiln. “The perfect wedding gift for Jennifer and Jim!” I thought. It was only as I was wrapping them that I realized that if “hetero-normative pottery” was actually a thing, then this set of cups could be the picture in the dictionary. Too many “diversity awareness” activities in my past? Perhaps. But in case any of you are about to ask me become the official potter of the Tea Party, the answer is no.
